Why did we create COURAGE?
The biomedical research community in the United States suffers from a lack of racial and ethnic diversity
Underrepresented (UR) biomedical faculty leave research positions at a disproportionately high rate
Those from UR background face more challenges than majority counterparts throughout their careers
Investigators from UR backgrounds are more likely to conduct research in minority populations highlighting the pressing need to support their inclusion and advancement in obesity, nutrition, and diabetes (OND) research
